King Lear

Original run extended through November 6th!

September 29 - October 23

Alvin Epstein plays the title role in this powerful yet achingly simple drama in which a royal father's ruinous demand for flattery shatters his kingdom, his family and his own soul. The conflict that erupts between Lear and his two rebellious daughters has its terrible parallel in the story of Gloucester and his sons, as storm and chaos engulf all. Yet madness, blindness and the cruelty of civil war are met by sacrifice and tender love.

With Allyn Burrows, Bill Barclay, Matt Dickson, Benjamin Evett, Ken Cheeseman, Bill Gardner, Jennie Israel, Colin Lane, Paula Langton, Gabriel Levey, Doug Lockwood, Sarah Newhouse, and Michael F. Walker.

Boston University College of Fine Arts, Studio 102
