What is a just war? Why does Henry go to war? Why do nations go to war? What does this war mean for the young men who are called to put their lives on the line and become Henry’s brothers in this fight? What are the costs to Henry and England? And how do the words of these characters illuminate our human condition today?

Join us for an evening of Henry V scenes and discussion, moderated by Coppélia Kahn, Professor of English and Gender Studies at Brown University and author of Man’s Estate: Masculine Identity in Shakespeare and Roman Shakespeare: Warriors, Wounds, and Women. A reception follows the event.
