Twelfth Night Curriculum

Twelfth Night Curriculum
By Lori D. Shaller
Program Description
Students will participate in activities designed to make Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night meaningful, by relating the play’s themes, characters and content to the students’ own lives and the world in which they live. Students will explore the themes of power, love, and passion in the play, through the lenses of their own personal and social relationships. Students will engage with lines of the text to make the text their own. Writing and discussion will facilitate development of the students’ relationships with the themes as expressed in the play. The students’ text work will culminate in short scenes performed for their peers.
