ASP & BAA present Othello May 19-21

We are thrilled to invite you to a student production of Othello, directed by ASP Lead Teaching Artist Magda Spasiano, at Boston Arts Academy.

Boston Arts Academy (BAA) is located at 174 Ipswich St., Boston, and the performances will be held in the school’s black box theater on:

  • Thursday, May 19 at 7pm
  • Friday, May 20 at 3pm and 7:30pm
  • Saturday, May 21 at 7pm

BAA is one of our outstanding partner schools.  ASP often works with them year-round and this is the most in-depth project we do: a four-month residency, culminating in a full-length play.  Our teaching artists audition, cast, direct, train stage managers, and help mentor students in all aspects of creating a professional production.

Our fabulous ASP team includes Director Magda Spasiano, Assistant Director Anneke Reich, Movement Choreographer Maurice Parent, Fight Choreographer Kai Tshikosi, and Vocal Coach Rebecca Schneebaum.  They are joined by a dedicated and talented team of BAA faculty, led by Producer Maura Tighe, and a wonderful youth cast and production team.

If you’ve never had a chance to visit Boston Arts Academy, this is a great opportunity to do so!  It is a very special place – Boston’s only public high school for the visual and performing arts, with over 420 students that reflect the rich diversity of Boston’s neighborhoods.

Seats are limited. Tickets are $7 adults, $5 students and seniors.

We hope to see you there!
