Benny Sato Ambush**

DIRECTOR

A former Artistic Director of three theatres (two of them professional), an educator (BA, BFA, MFA levels), consultant, former National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) panelist/site evaluator and published commentator. He recently served nine years as Senior Distinguished Producing Director-In-Residence of Emerson Stage, the producing wing of the Department of Performing Arts (PA) at Emerson College, where he also taught on PA’s acting and directing faculty. Prior artistic leadership (select): Acting Artistic Director – Rites and Reason Theatre Company, Providence, RI; Producing Artistic Director – Oakland (CA) Ensemble Theatre (SPT); Associate Artistic Director – San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater; Co-Artistic Director – San Francisco Bay Area Playwrights Festival; PEW Charitable Trust/TCG Director in Residence – Florida Stage; Associate Artistic Director – Anna Deavere Smith’s Institute on the Arts & Civic Dialogue at Harvard University; Producing Artistic Director – TheatreVirginia (LORT C). Numerous directing credits at professional regional theatres and universities throughout the U.S. and the Boston region. He has served on numerous regional and national boards – including Theatre Communications Group (TCG), adjudicates nationally and internationally for the American Association of Community Theatres, is a Steering Committee member of the National Alliance of Acting Teachers, a member of The National Theatre Conference, and is a panelist for the National Alliance for Musical Theatre. In April 2019, he will be inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Theatre. MFA – University of California, San Diego; BA – Brown University.

Brandon Green*

Brandon G. Green* is a Boston-based artist and educator from Selma, Al. Boston-area credits include work with The Lyric Stage Company, Company One, Arts Emerson, Commonwealth Shakespeare, SpeakEasy Stage, The Front Porch Arts Collective, Fresh Ink, 3050 Music Group, Brand New Classic, Cape Rep, and Nora/Underground Railway. Brandon was the recipient of the Elliot Norton Award for Best Actor for his performance in Company One’s production of An Octoroon. As a writer, he is working towards a workshop production of his one-man show, UM. As an educator, Brandon teaches theatre at Brandeis, MIT, and The Boston Conservatory. Lewis D. Wheeler*

THOMAS GRAY, GUARD

Lewis D. Wheeler* is excited to return to ASP having previously appeared in Richard II. Recent credits include Between Riverside and Crazy, Hand to God (SpeakEasy Stage); Ideation, Long Day’s Journey Into Night (New Rep); Finish Line (Boston Theater Company); Blood on the Snow (Bostonian Society); To Kill a Mockingbird, Doubt (Gloucester Stage). Also: American Repertory Theatre, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Lyric Stage, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, Nora Theatre, Underground Railway Theatre, Greater Boston Stage Company, Huntington Theatre, American Stage (FL), Publick Theatre, Wheelock Family Theatre, Vineyard Playhouse, Cape Rep, Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre. Film/TV: Manchester by the Sea, Black Mass, Live by Night, The Company Men, Louisa May Alcott (PBS), Brotherhood.  Upcoming: Showtime pilot City on a Hill and Greta Gerwig’s Little Women. Lewis performs with Theatre Espresso, staging interactive, historical dramas on topics of social justice for schools. He also works on improv-based training programs at Boston Children’s Hospital, helping clinicians practice challenging situations. BA Cornell University and MFA American Film Institute.
