An Actors’ Shakespeare Project and Central Square Theater Youth Co-Production

In our 14th annual Summer Youth Intensive, Actors’ Shakespeare Project is delighted to partner with Central Square Theater for an exciting and engaging co-production! ASP and CST’s combined ensemble will create, design, rehearse, and perform one of Shakespeare’s most compelling tragedies, Macbeth, paying special attention to the modern-day social justice concerns raised in the text.

Over four weeks, the 2024 youth ensemble will develop our production, guided by experienced ASP and CST staff and teaching artists. Live performances will be the culmination of a month-long intensive collaboration among teens from a variety of Boston-area communities.

Ages 13-19 welcome. Youth actors, stage managers, designers, and technical crew are all welcome and encouraged to apply.

Central Square Theater (450 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge; Red Line Central stop)

July 1 – 28, 2024

Weekday rehearsals: Monday-Friday, 9 am – 4 pm (OFF: Thursday, July 4)

Tech: Saturday, July 20, 10 am – 8 pm

Evening Performances: Thursday-Saturday, July 25 – 27, 7 pm (Youth called at 2 pm)

Strike: Sunday, July 28, 11 am – 6 pm

TUITION: $1,750; sliding scale scholarships available
