About ASP’s Summer Youth Intensive

July 5 – 31, 2016

Tuition: $1,300; some scholarships available

“It feels like this particular program has changed my life and my future. For the first time since starting high school, I am excited about life and I feel motivated and hungry.”

Summer Youth Intensive Participant

ASP leads a four-week summer youth intensive to explore the rough magic and loopy conflicts of Shakespeare’s comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by ASP resident company member, and Director of Youth Programs Michael Forden Walker. The youth ensemble work daily with Shakespeare’s language, voice, movement, and stage combat, guided by ASP company members and experienced teaching artists. No theater or Shakespeare experience necessary—the ensemble accommodates teens of all experience levels. Youth interested in technical theater and design are also encouraged to apply.
