Ticketing

  • All tickets will be available for pickup 1.5 hours prior to the start of each performance.
  • If you have any last-minute schedule changes, or if a member of your party will not be able to join you, please e-mail boxoffice@actorsshakespeareproject.org as soon as possible. The unused ticket will count as a donation to ASP and we will release the seat for resale.

Location & Entrance 

  • The Merchant of Venice will be performed at The BCA Plaza Theater (539 Tremont Street, Boston, MA, 02116).
  • The BCA Plaza Theater is ADA compliant. Please notify us if a person in your party uses a wheelchair, and we will be sure to accommodate your needs.

Public Transportation

  • The BCA is easily accessible by public transportation.
  • MBTA Orange Line to Back Bay Station Take the Clarendon Street exit and walk with traffic (Clarendon Street is one-way). Walk approximately 500 yards to Tremont Street. Take a left onto Tremont Street. The BCA is on the first block on the left.
  • MBTA Green Line to Copley Continue along Boylston Street with traffic (Boylston Street is one-way). Take a right onto Clarendon Street and walk approximately 750 yards to Tremont Street. Take a left onto Tremont Street. The BCA is on the first block on the left.
  • MBTA Silver Line SL4 & SL5 Exit at either East Berkeley Street or Union Park. Walk towards Tremont Street by following the direction of traffic on either Berkeley or Union Park. From Berkeley, turn left onto Tremont; from Union Park turn right onto Tremont.
  • MBTA Bus #43 Bus route 43 travels along Tremont Street between Ruggles, on the Orange line, and Park Street, on the Green and Red lines. Click here for the MBTA map of bus route 43. Boston Center for the Arts is located between the Tremont Street at East Berkeley Street and Tremont Street at Waltham Street stops.

Parking

  • On-street parking is very limited in the immediate area.
  •  Atelier 505 Parking Garage Located under the Calderwood Pavilion. Enter on Warren Ave, at the rear of the building.
  • Garage @ 100 Clarendon Street Located on Clarendon Street between Stuart Street and Columbus Ave, just before Back Bay Station. Visit the 100 Clarendon website for information on current rates.
  • Corner of Shawmut and East Berkeley Streets Open Lots on Berkeley There are two open parking lots on Berkeley Street at Columbus Avenue. Open until 10pm.

A Note regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus)

All of us at Actors’ Shakespeare Project care deeply about the health and safety of our community. We are taking steps to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) at our productions.
  • We are actively monitoring the situation and will continue to adhere to the guidance from local government and health authorities and the CDC.
  • We strongly encourage patrons exhibiting cold/flu symptoms to remain at home, recover, and attend their scheduled performance on another date. If you are feeling ill, we are happy to exchange your tickets for an alternative date with 12 hours notice, at no additional fee.
  • Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes will be available on site at all shows and events.
  • We have instructed our House Managers and ushers in best practices to prevent transmission, and will have additional signage in the space to encourage proper hand-washing, etc.

Restaurant Partner

  • Enjoy a delicious pre- or post-show meal at our restaurant partner Mida on 782 Tremont St. Boston, MA 02118. Mida is offering a free gelato scoop with purchase of an entree and presentation of ticket stub, ticket receipt, or program booklet.
