Shakespeare Training for Professionals

Join ASP Artistic Director Christopher V. Edwards this winter for three workshops for aspiring Shakespearean actors looking to hone their craft and connect more deeply with Shakespearean text — or any heightened text! Join us for one, or all three of these exciting workshops:

1/23 – The Mechanics of the Mechanicals (Session 1)

Tuesday, January 23 — 6:30-9:30pm
The Mechanics of the Mechanicals

Join ASP Artistic Director Christopher V. Edwards as we pop the hood on Shakespearean text and dive into verse, scansion, rhyme, and language. Build up your toolkit with a deep dive into Macbeth with all its twists and turns.

1/30 – The Action to The Word, The Word to The Action (Session 2)

Tuesday, January 30 — 6:30-9:30pm
The Action to The Word, The Word to The Action

Get up on your feet and take center stage with Shakespearean monologue work! Bring in your best two contrasting as ASP Artistic Director Christopher V. Edwards helps hone your character work and help you book that next big role.

2/6 – Strutting and Fretting Your Hour Upon The Stage (Session 3)

Tuesday, February 6 — 6:30-9:30pm
Strutting and Fretting Your Hour Upon The Stage

The scene is the thing! ASP Artistic Director Christopher V. Edwards will be assigning scenes in groups of twos and threes for actors to get a feel for building stakes, chemistry, and the flow of the scene.

Each workshop costs $120, or $270 total ($90 each) when you order all three as a package. Space is limited to ensure that each student receives proper individualized attention and direction. All workshops will be taking place at Charlestown Working Theater.

Scholarships are available for students with financial need, reach out to info@actorsshakespeareproject.org for more info and to apply.
